Our Payson, AZ chapter of the Rising Tide Society covers a lot of ground. We’re the northernmost chapter in Arizona making us the closest group for a huge chunk of our state.

We started this chapter with the idea of getting established for a few months in Payson and then branching out to try and serve more awesome creatives in the many MANY rural towns that have many MANY MMAANNYY miles between them. This month’s meetup was the first to see that goal start to come to fruition!

We hope to rotate around to the various towns to get more people involved and to unite people in the area to buoy each other up and strengthen the creative economy here (enabling them all the more to enjoy these rural areas that they live in, while doing something they love, and helping to provide a bit of extra money for their families).

This month’s meetup was held in Winslow, AZ. In fact we were nearly “standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona” and it really was such a fine sight to see. Just down a step or two from the Standin’ on the Corner park is the Relic Road Brewing Company. They have the coolest atmosphere, a menu to tempt pretty much anyone, and they were so sweet to make a space for us!

I was so excited for this month’s topic! Workflow’s and systems can completely change and revitalize a business, and it was neat to discuss benefits together and to go over tips for starting out with workflows. It made me realize places in my workflow that need to be tightened up, and I loved Deborah’s comment that she’s implemented workflows into her home, not just her business. Genius idea!!

One of the big announcements at this meetup was the change in “command”. I (Marquette) have been so fortunate to lead the group since it’s startup in April. To take care of some family health situations and be more present for my family I’m taking a business break and am turning the reins over to the very capabale and sweet hands of Deborah Allen of Deborah Allen Photography in Winslow, AZ. She has so many amazing ideas and dreams for the group, I can’t wait to see it continue and grow under her leadership!
